Grammar Guidelines

For high school students in the Speech Competition!

Take a look at the Grammar Guidelines below to give you an idea of the kind of grammar that students generally encounter in a classroom setting.

 

These guidelines should not be viewed as a limitation on the grammar that can be used in the competition. Students are allowed, and even encouraged, to challenge themselves to use more advanced grammar.

 

Evaluation

A panel of judges will watch and evaluate all speech and skit videos using the following evaluation criteria and rubric. Contestants should review the criteria below before working on scripts and videos.
